Although Laserset got its match programme publishing service into full swing in 1992, our experiences of publications had started long before that.

We started off by producing the programmes for Port of Bristol FC, which proved to be a very successful venture critically as it was regularly voted as the best in the county of Gloucestershire for several years in a row, the pinnacle came in the 1983-84 season which it finished in fifth place in the whole of the country.

Shortly after that, in April 1985, we began producing Bristol Soccerworld, a weekly local football magazine which proved to be very popular indeed in the Bristol area and also received many subscriptions from around the country. Bristol Soccerworld continued in print form until 2008, when a general decline in magazine sales all over the country saw us take the decision to convert it to an online publication, which is still going strong to this day.

The surge in popularity in women’s football led to us opening up our second magazine in September 2000, this time on a national basis rather than regional. Women’s Soccer Scene again proved to be very popular, so much so that in 2006, the publication won the FA National Media Award - a title normally given to the likes of the BBC, the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph and so on. The magazine is still going to this day, still covering the women’s game as it continues to go from strength to strength.

We then branched out into producing programmes for clubs and this has also proved to be successful, with our personal service and careful, detailed attention helping bring out the best publications we are able to produce for a large number of clubs, each week.

In 2020, partly due to the pandemic, we expanded our service to include digital online match programmes, easily called up by a QR code and read in book form on mobile phones and tablets etc. we were one of the first in the country to introduce this venture and our service has been very well received by those who use it, also leading to some of those clubs winning awards at the end of the season. The online service also catches the attention of clubs due to the lesser costs involved, giving those clubs a financial boost through their sales and adverts gained.
